How loud is a gate, really?

If your gate sits close to a boundary, or you leave early and come back late, it is worth specifying for quiet operation at the outset rather than discovering the issue afterwards. Bear in mind that on the seafront side an underground motor may not suit — the housing has to drain, and salt and standing water are a poor combination.

My driveway is close to my neighbour. What should I specify?

Will a gate this close to the sea corrode?
